Picture of Ebba Hård on Lake Vänern
The name Ebba Hård comes from one of the oldest aristocratic clans of Sweden. Ebba Hård the younger is the god daughter of the owner of Ebba Hård the boat and that is how the boat was given its current name. Ebba Hård, the god daughter to the owner, is in turn the god mother to Ebba Hård the boat.
When under ownership of the Royal Swedish Marine her name was 411. The second owner and first time restorer, Sune Svenningsson, named her Hanna. Sune Svenningsson was the owner of the Öckerö Båtvarv shipyard, one of few Swedish new build yards still capable of building a boat like Ebba Hård. Sune Svenningsson had her fitted with a traditional rescue boat rig, which was typical for this hull type before motor power outcompeted sail power on this kind of ships. The rig has remained unchanged apart from minor modifications by the current owner.
