Coronet Yachts, Denmark
Coronet began in 1951 when Ole Botved founded Botved Boats in Denmark. He engaged Richard C. Cole of the USA, a well known designer, who helped to produce the first Coronet, an 18 foot motor boat, in 1956. Production at Vordingborg, Denmark, expanded rapidly and 95% went to the US market. After many successful years the company's fortunes changed and Botved Boats was sold in 1977 to the B&W Danish shipyard. In 1980 it was sold again, taking on the name Coronet Boats A/S. Production halted in 1992 but resumed in 2006 with the formation of Coronet Yachts Denmark.
